Monday's Message by Mary!

So I am REALLY liking this series our preacher is doing on Sundays! It's a little continuation on last Monday's message, but I feel so strong about this that I had to share it this Monday! Ok, so this week he continued on Matters of the Heart. This week he touched more on pollution in our hearts. It's so hard to see sometimes that our minds and heart are so polluted by our culture these days. We sorta get lost in the mix! Everyone is guilty of this! He said that previous generations were shaped primarily through 1)family 2)school and 3) church. Ok, so I thought, well is it not true today too? Then he said that the majority of families are single or divorced/remarried, we no longer say the pledge or pray at school, and LESS THAN 50% of Americans attend church! Is that not a slap in the face? Today our hearts are being shaped by totally different factors. 1)news media 2)entertainment 3)internet. That is so true. Sometimes we are more caught up in what's going on with Brittany's life or Brad's and Angelina's! I know it sounds like I am being judgemental, but I do these things too. We just think that if you believe what you want and I will believe what I want, everything will be ok. Well folks that is just not right. We should stand up for Christianity. Live the life of a Christian. I am the number 1 person to say that I have not been doing this. I want people to look at me and say "What a wonderful Christian she is!" Don't you want that too????
Love you all! Remember just talk to the Man because He is so great!

Monday's Message by Mary

Yesterday at church we had an awesome sermon. It was titled "The Heart of the Matter". It was great and a real eye opener for me. He started it with a verse: "For where your treasure is there your heart will be also"(Mt. 6:21). Then he asked these next 2 questions: 1)What is the most important thing in your life? And I hate to admit this but the first thing that came to my mind was not God it was my family. Then I thought well without God I would not have a family. 2)What evidence exists to prove your assertion? And this is the question that opened my eyes. I realized that everyday I do more nonimportant things and not hardly anything to God. So I decided during church that every morning after Dawson leaves for school and before Mary Carly wakes up that would be my time with God. I am telling this story in hopes to remind everyone to spend time with God. Just talk to Him like He is sitting beside you. And remember He always knows your heart! Have a Happy Monday!!!
